Lebanese singer Mariam Fares recently attended a charity event in Beirut for which she wore a unique dress that caught the eyes of those present and gave rise to criticism. The dress had a slit from the front showing most of her left leg. The event was organized by the company ‘Neftaline’ in honor of the film “Tanoorah Maksi” (Short dress) that is directed by Joe Bu Eid.
Mariam had donated a large sum to charity, but the amount was not revealed based on the singer’s wishes. The singer did not stay till the end of the event due to the fact that she had to head off to Dubai to hold a private performance at a wedding.
The dress, which was designed by fashion designer Rami Qadi and was stunning, made those present remember the dress worn by American star Angelina Jolie at the recent Oscars. Mariam made the mistake of posing to photographers upon her arrival at the event in the same manner that Angelina had posed on the red carpet of the Oscars. Mariam was accused of trying to imitate Angelina by placing her hand on her hip and intentionally exposing her left leg through the slit of the dress that only concealed inches from her leg.
