Young Egyptian actress Muna Zaki has backed out of a recent decision to star in the new television drama “Haneen wa Hannan” alongside prominent Egyptian actor Omar El Sharif.
The actress justified her not accepting the role due to her preoccupation with the film “Taymour wa Shakiko” (Taymour and his brother), which she stars in alongside Ahmad Al Sakka, Hala Fakher and Raja Al Jadawi.
Muna’s decision has forced director Enas Baker of the new drama to postpone filming of the scenes until the new replacement, new comer Mariam, is prepared to play the role.
Muna is also preparing to begin filming a new film titled “Aswar Al Qamar” (Fences of the Moon).
The film is produced by Waleed Sabri, written by Mohammad Hifthi, and will be directed by Tareq Al Arian.
On a different note, Muna denied circulating rumors that she has begun wearing a ‘Hijab,’ an Islamic headdress, while attending the closing ceremony of the International Cairo Cinema Festival with her husband, actor Ahmad Hilmi.
