The prominent Egyptian singer Najat Al Saghira has decided to end her singing career with no regrets, saying it is time to make that final step off stage with the memory of her voice and image alive in all those who loved her.

According to the London based Al Sharq Al Awsat daily, Najat feels that it is time to end her 59 year career as a singer to keep her stardom alive refusing to use any modern technology to improve a voice which has not been compromised by age.

Najat has made it a point to record her last album under the title “Itma’in” (Don’t worry) composed by Salah Al Sharnoobi. This will be the last work done by the singer before she puts her singing career to rest.

Najat the sister of the late actress Suad Hosni, began her singing career in 1942 at the age of five. Some of her most noted work are “A’ythun” (Do they think) written by renowned poet Nizar Qabani, and “La Takthibi” (Don’t lie) by poet Kamal Al Shinawi. –Albawaba.com
