Egyptian actress Nelly will start next week shooting the new comedy series Alo Rabe’ Marra (Hello for the Forth Time), marking her return to the small screen after a two-year hiatus, according to the Arabic daily Al Ahram.

The 15-episodes series is based on the late writer Bahgat Qamar’s story, scripted by Adel Anwar, directed by Sayyed Tantawi and costarring Mustafa Fahmi, Shwikar and Ahmed Rateb.

The series tackles marital problems and the effect of money on the relationship between man and woman.

Meanwhile, Nelly is gearing up for the new TV series Kaf Al Arousa (Bride’s Palm) based on a pop song for children called Sousah Kaf Arousah.

The series tells the story of a soft and romantic girl who, despite her big aspirations, is faced with reality. Everything in her life becomes dominated by money in this age of globalization.

Before the girl surrenders to despair, she meets a young man who falls in love with her and rescues her from falling down under the wieght of life's difficulties.

The series was scripted by Muna Noor Eddin, directed by Ahmed Saqer and costarring Ibrahim Yusri and a number of prominent stars.

Some performances and light songs appear in the drama, particularly in flashback scenes, in addition to other performances that fit into the storyline itself.

The performances are there to cast light on the dreamy and romantic character of the girl, who sees the bright side of life and who does not have a shred of jealousy or belligerence –
