A press release by the production company for the film “Halim…Hikayit Sha’eb” (Halim…A Nation’s Story) announced that it held an exclusive screening for producer Emad El Din Adeeb, director Sharif Arafeh, the production team, and other VIP figures.

Those present for the screening declared that leading actor Haitham Zaki, son of the late prominent actor Ahmad Zaki, has proven to be as talented as his father, touting the film as one of the best in Egyptian history.

According to the London based Elaph, the production company did not reveal when it will release the film to the public. Sources predict by Spring 2006.

Those present for the screening, hailed the performance of the entire cast, including Muna Zaki, Izzat Abu Ouf, Syrian actor Jamal Sulieman, and Sulaf Fokharji.

Sulaf plays the role of “Jihan,” Halim’s mysterious lover, who comes from a well-known Egyptian family.  Although, to their dismay, the love affair does not end in marriage.

Sulaf revealed that she was overwhelmed about acting in such a film that tells the story of Egypt’s beloved legend Abdul Halim Hafez. Sulaf was honored at being nominated and considers the role to be the most important of her career.

Haitham was nominated to complete his father’s role in the film and plays the role of the late singer Abdul Halim in his early years. The producers of the film felt that Haitham was the best candidate for the role, especially due to the strong resemblance he has to his father, in addition to his promising talent as an actor.
