ALBAWABA - Following the collapse of the Bashar Assad regime in December 2024, production companies raced to create series based on the incidents that took place during that era. Ramadan 2026 will be rich with the drama of the Assad family.
It is worth noting that this is the first ever Ramadan following the collapse of the Bashar Assad regime in Syria, in which five series will be talking about the period when Bashar Assad and his family were in power.
Ramadan 2026: List of Syrian series about the Assad era:
1. "Saadet El Majnon" series:
The series "Saadet El Majnon" (سعادة المجنون), written by Alaa Muhanna and directed by Saif Eddin Subaie, is based on events between 2022 and 2024. It delves into a vast network of corruption extending from working-class neighborhoods to the justice system, using crime as a tool to expose the social and psychological turmoil produced by years of war and economic collapse.
The "Saadet El Majnon" series will be released in Ramadan 2026, and it consists of 30 episodes starring Syrian actress Sulafa Memar and Syrian star Abed Fahed.

2. "Eilat Al Malek" series:
The "Eilat Al Malek" series, or [The King's Family] (عيلة الملك), focuses on social mobility through political influence, exploring the relationship between class and power in the period before the Syrian revolution.
The Ramadan series is directed by Mohammed Abdel Aziz. Syrian actor Salloum Haddad is one of the main cast members of the series, which highlights the story of a person called Jabri al-Malik, a Damascene merchant, as he ascends to wealth and power through alliances with influential families.
3. "Al Khoroj Ela al-Ber" series:
The series "Al Khoroj Ela al-Ber" [Exit to the Well] (الخروج إلى البئر) is one of the most prominent projects that seeks to explore critical periods in modern Syrian history, inspired by the events at Saydnaya Prison in 2008. The work is written by Samer Radwan and directed by Muhammad Lutfi.
4. "Qaysar - La Makan Wala Zaman" series:
The series "Qaysar - La Makan Wala Zaman" [Emperor – No Place, No Time] (القيصر – لا مكان لا زمان) is based on true stories for people who were released from Assad prisons and will be sectioned to 10 parts. Each story consists of 3 episodes.
The drama will display torture in prisons during Assad's era. The series' cast members are Ghassan Massoud, Salloum Haddad, Sabah Jazairi, and Samer Ismail, while singer Asala Nasri sings the cover song.

5. "Syrians Are Enemies" series:
"Syrians Are Enemies" series (السوريون الأعداء) covers approximately 40 years, from the beginning of the Corrective Movement in the Ba'ath Party in 1970, through the Hama massacre in 1982, up to the Syrian revolution in 2011.
