Earlier this month, the first accusations began that Arab music giants, Rotana, were working with an Israeli businessman. First it was Amr Diab's ex-colleague, Ayman Bahjat Qamar, but soon others got on board. Now the production company has finally hit back, denying that they have had any dealings with the man in question: Robert Mardoukh.
Not only are officials refuting the rumors but, according to the Elaph, they are also threatening to sue everyone from Ayman Bahjat Qamar down. The poet accused Egyptian superstar, Amr Diab, of selling his songs to Mardoukh in an interview with 'Al Masri al Yawm' earlier this month.
Amr is a big asset for the production corporation, so they were keen to get things straight. In a press release sent out this week, Rotana explained: "we at ‘Rotana’ want to assure everyone that the music produced by the company is the sole property of the company and singers and is not up for sale to any investor or entity."
