Sources have revealed that the music production company Rotana will pay prominent Saudi singer Mohammad Abdo a wage of 5 million US dollars for signing a contract with them. Mohammad had signed a contract with Rotana over a year and a half ago that only gave the company the right to film a number of musical sittings the singer held.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, at the time the singer became angry with the company because it had advertised that it would be producing musical videos for the singer, which was not the case. Due to the disputes, the singer refused to accept a wage less than 5 million US dollars.
Abdo, know as the Arab Artist, has officially joined Rotana and signed a 5-year contract with Rotana’s general manager stating that the company is responsible for all of the singer’s work and the singer must submit 5 different albums during this period.
The contract also says that the company will produce two music videos with the release of each album, which will be aired on Rotana music satellite channel. This step marks the first time the singer has signed a contract with a production company since the start of his career.
The album “Al Amakin” (Places), which the singer plans on releasing in the very near future, is to be the first fruit of cooperation with the company. The singer is scheduled to hold a grand performance during the Dubai Nights Festival, which has become an annual event featuring some of the most prominent singers. The singer’s concert will be held on the third day of the Muslim holiday Eid Al Adha
