ALBAWABA - Trump reacts after Trevor Noah Grammy joke sparks lawsuit threat.
Trump has said that he will sue comic Trevor Noah because he made jokes at the Grammy Awards about Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.
The event's host, Noah, said, "Song of the Year—that is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein's island is gone; he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton."
Trump has known Epstein for a long time, but he says he didn't know about his crimes and that the two broke up around 2004. There are no signs that he ever went to Epstein's secret island, and Epstein's victims have not accused him of any crime. The US Justice Department has said that the claims made against him are not true.
A Clinton spokesman in 2020 said the former president had "never been" to Epstein's island, Little St. James. Clinton hasn't been blamed for anything bad.
Noah made a joke, and Trump replied, "I'm sending my lawyers to sue."
Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote, "Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. NOT TRUE!!! "I can't speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight's false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media. "No one is as stupid as Noah. He needs to get his facts straight quickly.
He added, "Get ready, Noah; I'm going to have some fun with you!"
Epstein was found dead in his New York prison cell in 2019 while he was waiting to be tried on sex trafficking charges. This was more than ten years after he was found guilty of asking a child to perform sexual acts for him.
In 1998, he bought his own private island. A lot of survivors have said they were mistreated and trafficked there.
In the past few years, Trump has taken civil action against several news organizations, such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

He took the BBC to court in Florida in December and sued them for defamation and breaking a trade practices law by editing a Panorama show. The case was for a lot of money.
Noah was born in South Africa and was the host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central in the US for seven years.
