ALBAWABA - After 10 days of the current Palestinian-Israeli war that started on October 7, 2023, more and more Turkish celebrities are opening up about the deadly war againt Palestinians, especially since a large number of victims are children.
Tuba Büyüküstün comments on the Palestinian-Israeli war
Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün, 41, has shared the first story with her 6 million followers on Instagram without taking sides or supporting one party against the other.
The Another Self star shared a post of two boys hugging each other, one of them is Palestinian and the other one is Jewish, by Turkish Astrologist Oğuzhan Ceyhan where he wrote: "We the good people should fight for peace... nobody wins a battle where everybody dies."
Meanwhile, Tuba Büyüküstün wrote on the story:
"Standing here for peace, for love, for unity..
Asking God for forgiveness for humanity..
Praying for the victims
We all are union.."
Arab followers criticized Tuba's post and described her as "ignorant" and "doesn't really know what's happening in Palestine."
They commented things like: "Does she understand the topic or she just posts about it to become trending?!", "I wish she stayed silent".
Murat Boz calls what's happening in Palestine 'humanitarian tragedy'
Turkish singer-songwriter and actor Murat Boz, 43, has joined his Turkish colleagues and broke his silence over the devastating situation that Palestinians in Gaza are suffering in the last 10 days.
The Turkish artist posted a video of a Palestinian girl explaining how Palestinians do not have water to drink and calling the situation as a "catastrophe".
And Boz commented on the video with: "This is a humanitarian tragedy that cannot be ignored, innocent civilians in Palestine have no water, no electricity #Palestine! #StopWar."
Other Turkish celebrities break their silence on Palestine
Turkish actor Caner Topçu shared a story that says "Free Palestine".
Meanwhile Turkish actor Murat Ünalmış wrote: "Pray for Palestine. There is not much to say, the oppressor is still the oppressor."
As for Turkish actor Furkan Aksoy, he wrote: "Why are you silent? Why are you afraid?
Why do you ignore Palestine where crimes against humanity are being committed?
Are you afraid that you will not be able to perform in Israel in the future? Or afraid that you will lose fans who support Israel? Or are you thinking about the possibility of being included in the Israeli team in the future and benefiting?
