Vitamin C and Dracula?… Well, why not!
Breakthrough songstress, Vitamin C (aka Colleen Fitzpatrick) is having great fun on the set of director Wes Craven’s latest horror flick, Dracula 2000.
According to Wall of Sound, Fitzpatrick is playing Lucy, one of the bloodthirsty count’s necking partners.
“The character of Lucy was very different than I am,” C says. “It was fun to be this sort of flirty, flirtatious person. She’s a curious woman who is perhaps a little innocent. She’s willing to explore and does a little dance with Dracula. I enjoyed my experience working on the set tremendously. I’m a big horror fan, not like a huge gothic or anything, but I am very much into being spooked, and I love sexy, scary movies. And I’ve always been a big fan of the Dracula story. How can you not be? Vampires are so sexy.”
And, C notes with pride, she walked away with her own set of custom-made vampire teeth. “I carry them with me,” she says. “They’re two fangs, sort of capped around the rest of my teeth, made and colored especially for my teeth.”
The movie experience also taught C something else, she says: that actors are “a bit spoiled,” especially compared to musicians, who have to travel from city to city to perform each day. “It’s more hectic traveling around than it is being on a set every day, with a trailer and catering and chiropractors and all these other amenities,” she says. “It’s hard work, and we were working on a quick pace, but that’s kind of the pace musicians work at a lot.”
C will next been seen during January in the film Get Over It, starring Kirsten Dunst, who also appears in the video for C’s latest single, The Itch. C’s sophomore album, More, is due out Jan. 30. – Albawaba.com.
