Prominent Egyptian actor Yahia Al Fakharani revealed that he had turned down his nomination for the television drama “Khatim Suleiman” (Suleiman’s ring), which was aired during the past Ramadan season, due to the similarity of the role given to him to that of the one he played several years ago in the drama “Opera Ayda”.
At the same time, Yahia expressed his admiration of the performance of actor Khaled Al Sawi who eventually played the leading role in “Khatem Suleiman”.
According to the London based Elaph, Yahia stressed that he cannot accept roles that are similar to ones he played in the past because they simply do not add anything to his career.
On a different note, Yahia revealed that the scenes of his upcoming television drama “Mohammad Ali” will be filmed once the economic condition in Egypt improves. Yahia added that the drama was initially written as a film, but due to the fact that the cost of production has sky rocketed it was turned into a television drama. The drama will be produced by the production company ‘Good News’ and will be directed by Syrian director Hatem Ali.
