With a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a second one in the other, Yanni was met with a warm welcome in Cairo airport to the sound of his compositions playing in the background, while surrounded by Egyptian officials - including Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou and Cairo Airport Company’s Chairman Ahmed Genena - who welcomed him to "umm el donia," Youm7 reported.
The singer is in town for his debut Egypt concerts, that are scheduled for Friday 30th and Saturday 31st October.
Both concerts will take place at the foot of the Sphinx next to Amenhotep II Temple in Giza.
Over the weekend, 3,000 security personnel will be at the venue to secure the concert, and the archaeological areas of the pyramids, according to an official source at the Interior Ministry.
The Sound and Light concert at the Pyramids will kick off the evening, before Yanni's “Dream Concert” begins at 10 p.m.
