Scenarist Waheed Hamid has succeeded in combining some of the most prominent names of the Egyptian cinema in his upcoming film “Amarit Ya’koubian”, which is based on the novel by Dr. Alaa’ Al Aswani. The list of actors include Adel Imam, Nour El Sherif, Nabila Obeid, Laila Elwi, Hind Sabri, Ahmad Rateb, Ahmad Budair, and so on.

According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, the latest addition to the film is prominent Egyptian actress Yusra, Director Marwan Hamed, who will mark his first directing experience with the movie, and Waheed were able to convince Yusra to join the cast of the film after extensive negotiations.

Marwan was forced to postpone the filming of the movie, which the first scenes were previously scheduled to be shot by the end of this month. The delay was caused due to the fact that the director must find the right person to play the role of a bizarre journalist, which is a major role in the film.

A number of prominent actors have turned down their nomination for the role, like Egyptian actor Farouq Al Fishawi, due to the sensitivity of it and fear of expected criticism from journalists. Farouq had accepted the role of the narrator in the film, after the significant success he achieved in a similar role in his latest television drama “Al Dam Wal Nar”.

The director for the new film will be Marwan, the son of scenarist Waheed Hamid, and he is given a strong start as his first step into directing. The movie is about fighting corruption and Adel performs the role of a high ranked official who is suspected to be involved in different acts of corruption.

Yusra was to be held guest live on the Arab satellite television channel New TV on the program Maestro, which is hosted by Nishian, but requested that she postpones her appearance until after the Muslim holiday Eid El Fitr. The actress’s request came due to the fact that she will be heading to the Saudi Arabia to perform the religious pilgrimage Umra.

It has been revealed that the program Maestro will continue aft the month of Ramadan on a weekly basis, after the significant success it has accomplished by hosting some of the most prominent names in the entertainment and political worlds.
