Prominent Egyptian actor Yusra has welcomed an invitation to sit on the panel of judges for the Muscat International Cinema Festival, held in Oman at the end of January.
According to the London based weekly, Laha, two Egyptian films will be screened at the festival, “Bahib El Cima” (I Love the Cinema) starring Laila Elwi, and “Malik Wa Kitabeh” (King and Writing) starring Hind Sabri and Mahmoud Hamida.
Yusra requested a break from filming “Yalah Nur’us” (Let’s Dance), to attend the festival. She requested that director Enas El Dughaidi change the original title of the film from “Al Ragsa Al Akheera” (The Last Dance) to “Yalah Nur’us” (Let’s Dance), claiming that the first title sounded too negative.
The film is an adaptation of the Hollywood production “Lets Dance,” starring Richard Geere and Jennifer Lopez.
The difference between her film and the American version is that the latter has a male as the leading actor, while the Egyptian version presents her as the leading star, explained Yusra.
The script was written by Osama Abdul Thaher and directed by the controversial Enas Al Dughaidi from Egypt. The film also stars Tamer Hajris, Izzat Abu Ouf, Hala Sidqi, and Randa Al Buhairi.
