Haya Water recognises that the quality of the services it offers to its customers and partners as it embarks on its ground breaking water re-use project in Muscat depends on the skills, commitment and dedication of its workforce.

That is why the company invests nearly 5 per cent of its total payroll budget every year on delivering comprehensive training programmes to its staff operating at every level of the company’s business.

As an Omani company delivering services to the people of Oman, the company has a very active commitment to the highest levels of Omanisation and has already achieved 72 per cent with that number rising every year.

Haya Water’s commitment to Omanisation does not stop with recruitment. That is only the start of an intensive programme of training and development that new recruits receive from the company who then benefit from continuous on the job training.

It is this commitment to the development and training of staff at all levels that make the company confident it can achieve its ambition in the future to become recognised as one of the top five employers in Oman.

Already the company has planned 125 different training programmes, 474 training sessions, 822 training days and 5,576 trainees’ days – delivering one of the most intensive training and mentoring programmes conducted by a company in the Sultanate.

Haya Water HR Manager Mr Ibraheem Al Sulimani said: “As a business we know that our success must be built on the talent, capabilities and commitment of everyone of our staff.  That is why we are investing more every year in delivering the widest possible range of training programmes and activities to ensure that all our staff continues to grow and develop their careers.

“The more knowledge and education we are able to pass on to our staff means they can perform even better than in the past and ensure the levels of service they deliver are constantly improving.  It also gives them as an individual a much more rewarding career and helps to reinforce their commitment to Haya Water and our business.”

The company is currently embarking on the largest ever water re-use project of its kind in the Middle East that will eventually see at least 80 per cent of households and businesses in Muscat Governorate connected to a world class state of the art waste water treatment system.

It has been planned as a system that will ensure long terms benefits to both individuals and the environment allowing the use of treated water for irrigation purposes and solid waste to be used for compost – relieving pressure on ground water and desalination plants while reducing the levels of greenhouse gas emissions.

In training services the company has also embarked on a scheme that is developing its own skilled internal staff to be trainers and 20 Haya Water employees are now certified and running programmes that include safety awareness, the role of internal auditors and understanding the Haya Water business.  Other development area programmes delivered to staff cover areas that include a commitment to operational excellence; developing a learning culture; creating a culture of customer care at Haya Water, the social and environmental relevance of Haya Water’s programmes and many others.

As a company Haya Water is fully committed to serving society in Muscat by delivering a world-class water reuse project that will create a “Greener and Cleaner Muscat” and produce major benefits to individuals, businesses and communities across the Muscat Governorate.
