Israel planning to build new illegal settlement in East Jerusalem

Israel has come under harsh criticism for a spike in illegal settlement activity in the occupied West Bank in recent weeks.

The new city is expected to be built on an area of 2,700 acres on Tantur Hill near the Arab community of Jdeideh in western Galilee (AFP/ File Archive).
