Abu Dhabi is studying the potential of establishing specialized industrial zones for logistics & services, Food & processing, automotive as well as pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
Hussain Jasim Al Nuwais chairman Emirates Holding and director of Higher Committee for Specialised Economic Zones (HCSEZ) said, according to Khaleej Times, that along these lines, a major steel complex in Abu Dhabi with an investment of nearly $700 million in phase 1, will produce 2 million tons of Long Products primarily steel rebars, and a further $1 billion in phase 2, for the production of flat products such as plates and coils to be further processed as downstream steel products for the oil, gas, automotive and other general industries.
