Egyptian singer Shireen Abdul Wahab will be holding a charity concert in Cairo, from which proceeds will go directly to the Children’s Cancer Hospital. The event will be held under the patronage of Egypt’s first lady Suzan Mubarak, and will be aired live on the Arab satellite channel Infinity.
According to the London based Elaph, once Shireen releases her album, which has been postponed several times, she will head off to Australia on tour.
Composer Rami Sabri has denied rumors that Shireen will again postpone the release of her upcoming album due to a legal dispute with her production company.
Rami stressed that the album is still in the production phase and needs more time than originally anticipated for completion. Shireen is still recording the songs for the album, he added, three of which were composed by Rami.
Shireen filed a lawsuit against her record producer, Nasr Mahrous, demanding to break the contract between them. Shireen claims that Nasr only produces one album for her every two years, a matter that negatively affects her career and is against the stipulations of their contract, which clearly states he must produce an album for her, yearly.
