Egyptian singer Shireen Wajdi has been nominated to hold a live performance at the inauguration of the Arab Summit in Algeria, which will feature the presence of presidents and ministers from around the Arab world. The event will be attended by politicians and people from the public and will take place at Ibn Khaldoon Hall, which can fit up to three thousand people.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, this will mark the first time Shireen performs at an event attended by high political figures, and plans to sing a collection of songs from her latest album and a number of her popular hits.
Wajdi is currently in England alongside her husband in order to choose a new wardrobe and accessories for her upcoming music video “Lama Shafouni” (When They Saw Me), which she will shoot in Lebanon under the direction of Mirna Abi Khayat Elias. Shireen is also scheduled to hold a grand performance in London at Albert Hall during the month of March.
Wajdi has announced that she does not intend on entering the acting world in the meantime unless she is offered a very attractive role that adds a great deal to her career. The singer revealed that she took part in different works in the acting world in the past, but she had not been offered any good roles recently. Shireen stressed that she is concentrating on her singing career at the moment and does not want to diverge her efforts elsewhere.
