Tensions between Washington and Ankara have flared over a presidential phone call that threatens to derail an offer to create a Syrian safe zone along the Turkish border. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday that the US had agreed to a 30-km deep safe zone after meeting with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
