IrisGuard, the world’s leader in Iris recognition technology, announced that its IG-AD100 Iris recognition camera received certification for deployment in India’s Aadhaar/Unique ID (UID) project from STQC (Standardization Testing & Quality Certification). The STQC Directorate is an attached office of the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of India. The biometric devices certified by STQC ensure that these devices are reliable, safe, secure and meet the specifications of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

IG-AD100 Dual-Eye Iris Camera received an extraordinary Zero False Match Rate (T-FMR) and Zero False Non Match Rate (T-FNMR) never previously achieved before in any iris camera during the recently conducted independent testing by International Biometrics Group (IBG) USA, biometric research lab.

The IrisGuard IG-AD100 iris recognition camera is built on the proven IrisGuard technology platform and gives users the latest technology in personal identity. The fast dual-eye acquisition process provides greater ease of use, significantly improved dependability, usability and accuracy. The camera was specifically designed for large-scale national deployments such as the UID project.

4G Identity Solutions, IrisGuard’s exclusive partner in India has developed VDMs required for the STQC certification process. “When building a never before attempted large scale Nation ID programme for a population of 1.2 billion, the choice of biometric device that captures best quality images is critical for long-term accuracy. We have selected IG-AD100® Iris Camera due its capability to capture best quality images and more importantly it is the only dual Iris camera that is field proven in real time large scale biometric identification programs and applications.” Chairman and CEO of 4G Identity Solutions, Dr.Sreeni Tripuraneni said.

"The IG-AD100 has all the required features and specifications to meet high-level requirements for the India’s UID project, including the dual-iris and facial recognition, intuitive and easy-to-use, pristine accuracy, superior image quality and exceptional speed, in addition to many other extraordinary specifications that qualified it to be selected for the project." Founder and CEO of IrisGuard, Mr. Imad Malhas said.

"The selection of IrisGuard's IG-AD100 for India's UID project validates IrisGuard's pristine iris camera essential for large population enrollment programs. It also carries on our global innovation and leadership in pioneering the iris recognition technology among fragmented competitors worldwide." Malhas added.
