Prominent Egyptian comedian actor Adel Imam strongly denied circulating rumors in the media that he has halted all work on his upcoming television drama “Firqat Naji Attalah” (Naji Attalah’s team) to film the new movie “Al Darbah Al Jawieh” (The Air Strike) in honor of ousted Egyptian President Husni Mubarak.
Adel stressed that all the news that has been circulated regarding the matter is not true and people should not be spreading such lies especially at the current moment with the unstable and sensitive conditions in Egypt.
A number of internet websites have posted that Adel was purposely targeted with such a rumor to hurt him professionally and show he is not in support of the Egyptian January 25 Revolution that overthrew the former government of ousted President Husni Mubarak. A weekly newspaper had published that the rumors were created at the beginning of the current month as an April’s Fool’s joke and nothing more.
