Egyptian comedian actor Hani Ramzi revealed that he and author Tariq Abd Al Jalil are preparing for a new film titled “Qasr Al Ri’asah” (The Presidential Palace) that deals with the events of the 18 days of the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. Hani stated that the main character in the film is Jamal Mubarak, who is the son of ousted Egyptian President Husni Mubarak. Hani added that he will be playing the role of Jamal.
Hani said in an interview with the program “Baladni Bil Masri” (Our Country in Egyptian) that he had given his initial approval for the leading role in the film, and he will not give his final approval until the entire story is fully written. He added that he anticipates that the film will be a comedy more than a political film and there are many humorous scenes.
The actor stated that he was happy with the success of his new film, "Sami carbon dioxide," and his contribution in making the public return to going to the movies once again. Hani had insisted to screen the film at this time to bring people out of the chaos they had experienced during the revolution.
