Legendary Egyptian actor Omar El Shareef has revealed that he is suffering from pain in his right leg and will be heading to Paris to undergo surgery. The surgery comes at the same time that numerous rumors have been spreading about the deterioration of Omar’s health condition. Omar began feeling pain during the conference ‘Egypt and International Cinema’.
At the time, Omar said to reporters that he was exhausted, but once the pain became unbearable, the actor stated that he was going to Paris to undergo joint surgery. Arrangements were made by Omar’s son Tareq, who resides in Paris, and the actor’s personal doctors to transfer him to undergo the operation. It has been known that the actor had been postponing the surgery for over 15 years.
Omar revealed that he had undergone a similar operation in his left leg several years ago and the matter is not a dangerous one. He added that he will be returning in January of 2011 to begin filming the scenes for the film “Isha’ah wahidah la takfi” (One rumor is not enough).
