Two Israelis were killed and another two injured after a stabbing attack by a Palestinian man in Jerusalem's old city, Al Jazeera reports.

Nineteen-year-old Muhannad Halabi, who Palestinian authorities say comes from the West Bank city of al-Bireh, stabbed a man, two women and a toddler near Lion's gate Saturday night in Jerusalem. Al-Bireh then reportedly stole a gun from a wounded officer and began shooting at tourists and security forces, according to the Associated Press. He was shot and killed by Israeli police at the scene.

Reports emerging after the attack suggest three of the stabbing victims come from an ultra-orthodox family, appanrelty on their way to pray at the Western Wall. Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad said the teen assailant was one of their members.

This comes anid heightened tensions  at Jerusalem's al-Aqsa compound, where Muslim worshippers have clashed with Israeli security forces intermittently for the last several weeks. Following the incident, Israeli forces stormed the mosque and arrested at least 40.

Now harrowing footage taken moments after the attack are emerging on social media, shot by an onlooker near the scene.
