One Israeli official is now using his Twitter account to denigrate business owners in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Ofir Gendelman, who is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's "Spokesman for Arab media," posted a snarky tweet on Sunday calling attention to the fact that a Gaza supermarket has Israeli goods for sale.

"Gaza under siege? A supermarket chain in Gaza proudly sells fresh Israeli products. Even their Hummus is Israeli!", Gendelman wrote.

How Gendelman knows the supermarket is "proud" to sell the product is unclear. It's possible, of course, that the store sells it because it's cheap and has a high profit margin, allowing it to stay in business in one of the poorest places on Earth.

Israel, after all, has near total control over which food products enter Gaza--and Gaza is a captive market.

Gendelman likely posted the tweet as a way to ridicule the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) movement, a campaign that urges Palestinians not to buy Israeli products, among other initiatives. The goal of the BDS movement is to exert economic pressure on Israel as a way of ending the occupation.

Gendelman's Twitter account, of course, isn't exactly known for being enlightened: he often uses it as a way to compare Palestinians to Daesh:

Gendelman was given special recognition as "an outstanding employee" by the Prime Minister last year.
