We all love a bit of food porn, even engage in it sometimes. But not when it comes from Daesh.
It's surprising, and a little annoying, how often the extremist group has shared its meals through social media, as if the tasty plates would make us forget about their atrocities or somehow make it OK. The militants love the attention, and one of the ways they get positive PR is the food they offer their fighters.
In other ways, the food pics offer some perspective: The militants love to portray themselves as hardened criminals, when really sometimes they're only as fierce as a bunch of Instagramming teenagers. But maybe next time the fighters sit down for a meal, they could focus less on the photos and more on reevaluating their so-called "Islamic" morals. Just a thought.
