At least 40 people were killed and 22 others injured Friday after a fire broke out at a hotel in Suleimaniyah province in northern Iraq, according to sources at the Ministry of Health. Sulaimaniya district is one of the provinces in the Kurdish region. Iraqi sources conveyed it was not a terrorist attack and most likely was a result of an electricity problem. An investigation is under way to find out the reason for the fire.
Fire went out of control despite attempts by firefighters to deal with it. The fire broke out after ten o'clock at night in Soma Hotel , which is located in the center of Sulaymaniyah.
