At least three people were wounded at an election rally for Abdel Fattah al Sisi on Saturday when a man riding a motorcycle threw a homemade bomb in the direction of the rally. It is unclear whether the attack was aimed at Egyptian police or those supporting Sisi, Reuters reports.

According to Reuters, Sisi himself was not present at the 150 person rally that took place in a north-eastern district of Cairo. Because of security concerns, Sisi does not make public appearances often.

The former general is largely expected to win Egypt’s upcoming presidential elections set to be held on May 26 and 27. Hamdeen Sabahi is Sisi’s sole competitor.
