Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has said the cabinet will resign as soon as the official result of the presidential election is announced on 5 June.

During a press conference on Monday, Mahlab said no violations had been reported by international election observers.

The European Observation Mission (EOM) and an African Union mission are monitoring the two-day poll.

Mahlab urged young people to participate in the vote.

Ibrahim Mahlab was asked to form a new government on 25 February after prime minister Hazem El-Beblawi and his cabinet resigned the previous day.
