Five people were killed in Iraq’s capital Baghdad on Saturday in two separate bomb attacks, AFP reports.
The ever increasing violence in Iraq has seen the death toll rise to over 3,500 people this year, as the count from the April 30 election continues.
A soldier was killed Latifiya, south of Baghdad while four others died in a market area of Tarmiyah after being hit by a roadside bomb, according to AFP.
While Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki widely anticipates a third term in office, many Iraqis blame him for the perilous security situation and riseing violence in the country.
