At least 15 people died and 38 were wounded when two bombs went off in the Iraqi city of Tikrit as police and troops were collecting their salaries at a local bank, Reuters reported Thursday.
A car bomb detonated outside the Rafidain state-run bank in the center of Tikrit and a suicide bomber blew himself up as emergency workers arrived on the scene, police conveyed.
Local news reports said security forces imposed a curfew on Tikrit city, whilst the security bodies began an inspection campaign against existence of booby-trapped cars or possible additional attackers.
