Saadi Gaddafi, the son of Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, warned that if his father steps down Libya could face a civil war. Saadi said in an interview with Al Arabiya, he added that the departure of his father will turn Libya into a "new Somalia."
Saadi accused his brother, Saif al-Islam for being responsible for failing to deal with the problems of ordinary Libyans. According to him, the tribes in Libya are all armed as well as troops from the Libyan army and thus "the situation is not like as in Tunisia and Egypt."
Saadi told the TV channel that the situation is "very serious" in terms of the civil war. Therefore, Libya needs a leader who can work for calming the situation, initiate a dialogue and convince people to build the future.
"The most important thing we are looking for today is to preserve the unity of Libya," he stressed.
