Nawras signs with Tilal Development Company for new premises from 2011

Nawras, a Qtel Group company, has signed a contract with Tilal Development Co. SAOC for new premises to house the growing Nawras family from next year. Nawras Chief Executive Officer, Ross Cormack and Chief Financial Officer, Jorgen Latte, sealed the agreement with Eng Abdulrahman Burham, Board Member of Tilal Development Co. SAOC, during a pleasingly different signing celebration held on the sixth floor of the Tilal Building.

Against a backdrop of the majestic Western Al Hajar Mountains and with an air of festivity, Nawras Board Member, Saleh Nasser Al-Riyami joined members of the senior management team and around 50 colleagues representing the different departments of this customer-friendly company. The Nawras family members donned their branded hard-hats to participate in the exciting occasion of the company choosing to relocate to offices above the Muscat Grand Mall in Al Khuwair.

Once the applause and cheering had died down after the signing of the contract, Cormack thanked Tilal Development Company for their support and said, "We are all looking forward to moving into our new home soon. This is a very important day for the Nawras family and we are celebrating as this exciting new development draws closer to reality."

In response, Eng Abdulrahman Burham said, "We are excited to house the Nawras family in our complex, for that we say Nawras welcome home!"

Since March 2005, the Nawras family has grown rapidly from 250 people initially to a total today of over 900 friendly professionals. To look after the ever-increasing number of customers for mobile, fixed and internet services, the company is currently occupying three different office locations.

This rapid expansion in numbers has accompanied the company's strong growth and led to Nawras selecting this new building as its built-for-purpose central location which will allow for streamlined functions and shared resources leading to improved efficiency in the years ahead. The new address will include open plan office space, training facilities, multi-media contact centre and network operations centre.

The Tilal Complex is the first of its kind mixed-use development in the country with innovative design elements and carefully selected Omani architectural elements portrayed in a contemporary form. This state-of-the-art project is under the final stages of development and when complete, it will provide Muscat Grand Mall the largest shopping mall in the area, as well as 245 residential units, 116 serviced apartments and 30,000 square metres of commercial office space in the heart of the city.

Nawras has taken a prime position on the site and offices will span six floors of the prestigious development as the company continues to serve an increasing number of customers with its award-winning pleasingly different service.
