Saudi border guards have killed an arms dealer caught in possession of about 100 automatic rifles in the southern province of Najran bordering the Republic of Yemen, a newspaper reported Tuesday.

Al-Watan quoted Najran governor Prince Mishal bin Saud as saying Said bin Faraj bin Mohammed al-Mahri al-Yami, a Saudi national, was killed during a shootout with the guards when he refused orders to surrender and opened fire at the security forces, badly damaging their vehicles.

Yami had in his possession 100 Kalashnikov AK-47 rifles and 100 magazines of ammunition worth some 36,000 dollars, the prince said. (Albawaba.com)
