Government warplanes attacked rebels near Aleppo and Damascus and shelling campaigns from both sides Tuesday killed civilians countrywide, according to AFP sources.
The government helicopters released explosive-laden barrels near the town of Safira in the east region of the Aleppo province. Pro-regime forces have been trying to control the town for months in order to secure a route into the city of Aleppo.
Other government helicopters targeted rebels near the Kwayris military airport and the Bab Nairab and Masaken Hanan neighborhoods of the city of Aleppo on Tuesday.
In Damascus, clashes continued in Jobar, Qabun and the Barzeh neighborhoods. The regime also resumed fighting in Mleiha on the outskirts of the city, conducting an airstrike on the rebel's recent gain. The rebels' recent seize of the Mleiha area a few days ago represented a key success due to the neighborhood's strategic location close to pro-regime suburbs like Jaramana.
Syria's state news agency SANA and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights both confirmed that at least two people were killed from a shelling attack in Jaramana.
Daraa's Inkhil was also shelled Tuesday killing two, and alleged government warplanes were deployed to strike rebels fighting near the Lebanese border in the Homs province.
