Vereen reports as a news anchor at Columbia's WACH FOX 57, an American news outlet that covers local news for residents of the city.
A $40,000 surety bond was made to ensure Vereen doesn't repeat the offense. Moreover, Vereen will have no access to personal internet, no use of social media outside of work, and no contact with a minor without adult supervision.
According to the New York Post, if the WACH FOX 57 anchor gets convicted, he may face up to 30 years in prison but he was released from jail right after the $40,000 surety bond.
WACH FOX 57 says that it understands the severity of the situation and that it put Vereen on suspension to await further investigation about the issue at hand.
A spokesperson for the outlet stated that they will not be commenting further about the matter in question as it's a personal matter.
