ALBAWABA - US Senator Lindsey Graham visited Ukraine and met President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sept. 6 where he made controversial statements.
Graham called on the United States and its allies to send more weapons and arms to Kyiv to confront and free Ukraine of "a terrible invasion".
US Senator posted the video on his X account and wrote: "Ukraine is trying to stop Putin so that the United States doesn’t have to." He added: "Ukraine doesn’t want or need American boots on the ground, they just need weapons and permission to fight Russia and stop the unprovoked invasion."
What was described as controversial was that Lindsey Graham said that Ukraine is sitting on a "trillion dollars' worth of minerals". He maintained that they are good for the US economy.
"So I want to keep helping our friends in Ukraine. We can win this. They need our help." In the footage, Zelensky also thanked the United States and US Senator Lindsey Graham for their country's assistance to Kyiv amid the ongoing war with Russia that started on Feb. 24, 2022.
Many comments were made on the post on X, a person wrote: "Imagine if you cared as much about Americans as you do about warmongering."
Another allegedly accused Graham of money laundering by saying: "We get it...you're money laundering our tax money through Ukraine and you stand to profit if you can start a war with Russia."
Furthermore, another social media user commented: "We can’t afford this proxy war. Stop spending my money without my consent!"
