ALBAWABA - During a session at the Knesset, the Israeli Transportation Minister suggested cremating the body of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

Miri Regev compared Yahya Sinwar to the Al-Qaeda Leader Osama Bin Laden, stressing that the Hamas leader's body should be burned. It is worth mentioning that Osama Bin Laden was thrown into the sea.

She said, "I think there are certain symbols that should not be returned," adding that she disagrees with the idea of handing over Yehya Sinwar back to Hamas not under any condition.

Will Israel cremate the body of Yehya Sinwar?

Roya News reported that Miri Regev's proposal is expected to be reviewed by Israel's security officials for approval.

During the ceasefire talks, Hamas requested the return of the bodies of both Yahya Sinwar and his brother Mohammed Sinwar. However, Israel denied the suggestion.

Yahya Sinwar, who was the Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip and the mastermind of the October 7 attack, was killed by Israeli soldiers on October 16, 2024, in Rafah. Meanwhile, Mohammed was killed in an airstrike in May 2025.
