ALBAWABA - It is well known that Hezbollah leaders and Iranian key personalities usually wear unique rings on their hands to be recognized if anything happens to them. A photo circulated allegedly showing the famous ring of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

A picture was shared by many supporters of the leader of the Iranian-backed movement showing a broken ring claimed to belong to Nasrallah.

Jordan's Khaberni news website also posted the photo and wrote: "Ring of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah."

Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-general of the Hezbollah movement was killed in a series of airstrikes carried out by Israel targeting six buildings including the headquarters of the Iranian-backed group - on Sept. 27.

The Israeli military confirmed on Sept. 28 the killing of Nasrallah in the Friday airstrike on the group's central command headquarters in Beirut's southern suburbs. A while after that, Hezbollah also announced Nasrallah's death.

On Sept. 23, the Israeli army announced stronger and more precise attacks on Lebanon and it requested Lebanese to "move out" of Hezbollah places. According to Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, around 1 million Lebanese were displaced due to continuous Israeli aggression.

Despite that the photo of Nasrallah's ring went viral on social media, a fact-check website, called FackCheckAr, posted on X detailing that the picture is very old and is not related to the Nasrallah assassination.

It revealed: "The photo was published in January 2024 on social media, which means that it has nothing to do with the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-general of the Lebanese Hezbollah, yesterday."
