ALBAWABA - Kim Keon Hee, the first lady of South Korea, is under huge criticism after she accepted a Dior bag gift of $2,200, the prosecution revealed on Sunday.

According to Channel News Asia, Kim Keon Hee is being questioned over allegations of stock manipulation and graft involving a luxury handbag from a French multinational luxury fashion house.

Media outlets revealed that a hidden camera clip that was shared to the public last year appeared to show Kim accepting a $2,200 Dior handbag.

Local media covered the news and labelled it as a "Dior bag scandal" considering what the first lady of South Korea did was a violation of government ethics rules.

The opposition party in South Korea called for an investigation into Kim Keon Hee for the Dior bag scandal and for her alleged role in a stock manipulation scheme.

the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said in a statement that "face-to-face questioning" was conducted last Sunday.

According to media sources, the South Korean law bans public officials and their spouses from accepting any gift that worth more than $750 and the Dior bag costs $2,200.
