ALBAWABA - Social media have been heavily accusing the United States of sharing thousands of armed forces in Gaza.

The Intercept website has shared a secret, leaked document by the United States Army with information that 2,000 American soldiers, who are currently serving in Iraq, will leave Baghdad for Gaza.

In detail, the document contains information that the American soldiers were part of the old mission called "Steel Torque" to defeat ISIS and that it is now planning to join Israel's ground operation in Gaza.

According to The Intercept, US President Joe Biden has vowed that the army will never send forces to Gaza, however, documents obtained showed a possibility that the military might be preparing for the possibility.

The orders consist that the soldiers will be "on standby to forward deploy to support troops in the case of on-ground US involvement in the Israel-Hamas war."

“There are no plans or intentions to put U.S. boots on the ground in combat in Israel,” White House national security spokesperson John Kirby said in October.

Meanwhile, a report by the New York Times confirmed that US special operations personnel were sent to Israel with the aim of helping with hostage rescue efforts.

The leaked document comes as the death toll in Gaza amid ongoing Israeli attacks rose to over 26,000, while the number of injured people jumped to 65,949, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza.

Nonetheless, the UNRWA revealed on Wednesday that in Gaza, "access to clean water is a matter of life and death."
