ALBAWABA - Kristi Noem, the secretary of homeland security for the United States, said Monday that her purse was taken on Sunday night when she was eating at a restaurant in downtown Washington, D.C. Investigations are still ongoing into the event, which happened while she was eating supper.
In statements at the White House, Noem admitted to the theft but said the matter is still unresolved. The restaurant's CCTV camera showed an unidentified white guy wearing a medical mask stealing her purse and walking out, according to stories in the U.S. media.
Her driver's card, prescription drugs, apartment keys, passport, DHS access badge, cosmetics bag, blank checks, and around $3,000 in cash were among the personal and official belongings allegedly found in the pilfered bag.
Secretary Noem is protected by the U.S. Secret Service, which has opened an official inquiry to look into any possible abuse of her government-related or financial assets.
