The incident in question occurred during the weekend of America's Independence Day celebrations after Massey (36) called 911 to report an intruder leading to her devastating death.

Deputy Sheriff Sean Grayson was later fired from the police and charged with murder and official misconduct, as reported by the BBC. Despite pleading not guilty, he remains in custody under "held without bond" jurisdiction.

On Monday, a video shared by the Illinois state police showcased Sonay Massey holding a pot filled with boiled water when one policeman pointed a gun at her then the other one followed. Massey was heard telling the police, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus."

Grayson replies with, "You better [expletive] not or I swear to God I'll [expletive] shoot you in your [expletive] face," then pulls up his gun and shoots her in the head.
