ALBAWABA - A woman took off her clothes and danced naked to music at a restaurant in the Ashrafieh area of Beirut on New Year's Eve.
This scene sparked outrage among a number of restaurant patrons, and social media users reacted to it, considering what happened unacceptable in a public place designated for nightlife, and inconsistent with prevailing social customs.
According to reports, the woman was not part of the entertainment team or the event organizers; she simply attended as a guest. Sources indicated that the incident occurred unexpectedly.
After entering, she went to the restroom, returned wearing a dance costume, and then proceeded to completely undress while dancing.
The sources added that the woman's name is Rami, and she is a transgender person who has previously undergone medical and surgical procedures related to gender reassignment.
Al Jadded news agency reported that Lebanese authorities decided to close the "Liza" restaurant in Beirut, Ashrafieh, following the organization of an entertainment show that included dancing that was considered contrary to public morals during New Year's Eve, due to its violation of the applicable Lebanese laws and regulations, especially those related to public morals and performances visible to the public.
