In an attempt to woo more tourists to the Sultanate, the Ministry of Tourism is set to open new offices in Middle East and Asia.
In the report issued by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Oman has progressed four places, to be ranked 48th worldwide from its last year’s position of 52.

The Sultanate's producer price index (PPI)-based inflation rose by 17.7 per cent in the second quarter of 2018, over the same period of last year, mainly driven by a surge in oil and gas prices by 20.6 per cent and non-oil products prices by 5.5 per cent.
Total deposits registered a growth of 4.5 per cent to OMR22.3 billion, with private sector deposits increasing by 4.7 per cent to OMR14.2 billion as at the end of June 2018. (Times of Oman)
