UN Security council praises progress in Syria, backs joint chemical weapons mission

The UN Security Council praised progress in Syria and backed a joint mission proposal Thursday to eliminate banned arms in Syria in cooperation with the Organization for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). The second OPCW inspection team also arrived in Damascus late Thursday.
