Every day thousands of visitors and those who love to shop flock to the Doha Trade Fair 2011 (DTF) to check out the latest products on display. Since its opening on June 4th, the number of visitors to the Doha Trade Fair has reached over 97,000.

“I am always on the hunt for unique and exclusive things, and I have managed to find simple, nice products from different countries. I really like the idea that only products made in the country of origin are represented on the stand of this country, it helps visitors shop comfortably, while being assured that the products are authentic and original,” said Laura Plummer, a Doha resident.

Renowned exhibitors have come from countries around the globe to showcase and sell a wide array of unique and traditional products. Many of the exhibitors are participating for the first time this year and are impressed with the number of local and regional visitors, as well as the work of the organizers.

"It’s my first time participating in this exhibition, and I am really impressed with the way it is organized and the quality of the management. I have participated in many exhibitions and I believe this is one of the best and the most successful of all. I am very optimistic about the sales, especially that the visitors seem to be interested in the custom-made crystal decoration for laptops, iPads and mobile phones," said Faisal Najia, of the Advance Science Computer shop from Jordan.

Another new exhibitor, Nasser Al Hajeri of Mini Dates, a local shop participating for the first year said, "In general it is a very pleasant experience, I am happy so far with the overall outcome. The place is well-organized and kept neat at all times. What really caught my attention is the security measurements that the management have taken, especially when it comes to kids, each kid has a sticker placed on his/her shirt with all their details written on it, in case they got lost; this is really impressive."

The newly-created “Fun-Zone” is the perfect place for families, offering entertainment from inflatable rides to fun games to daily parades. The Guinness World Record MONOPOLY board game is also placed in the “Fun-Zone” where teams of two are competing against each other in an attempt to gain the most monopoly points. Become an active Facebook fan to play in the series of MONOPOLY games which will run until June 13. The winning team will win the grand prize – a brand new Volkswagen Jetta.

“This is a really great place for the family. My three children are enjoying playing on the inflatable rides and watching the life-size games of MONOPOLY. I am really enjoying the shopping and I have bought gifts for all the family as well as some items to decorate our home. I am really impressed with how neatly presented everything is and with the variety of goods that are on sale,” said Noor visiting from Bahrain.

The Doha Trade Fair 2011, organized by Qatar Tourism Authority in collaboration with q.media events, is held under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
