Department of Municipal Affairs organizes a seminar for value creation in the public sector

As part of its commitment to enhance knowledge management, to encourage creativity and innovation among employees of the municipal system, and to shed light on the concept of value co-creation, the office of knowledge management “Musharaka” at the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) organized a seminar entitled “Value Co-Creation”. This seminar was presented by Professor Venkat Ramaswamy, Professor of marketing at university of Michigan, USA.
The seminar was attended by representatives from other governmental entities, research and development centres, and private companies. Various issues related to electronic interaction among organizations and customers were discussed with live examples around the world were given, and showed that over the last 20 years huge advancement and transformation took place in the dynamics of defining, developing and delivering value. As knowledge, technology and connectivity empowered people.
Professor Ramaswamy said that, Value Co-Creation in public sector exceeds the better understanding and direct responsiveness to customers needs to enhance mature dialog and mutual responsibility to the prosperity and development.
H.E Dr Abdullah Ghareeb Albeloshi, Managing Director of Municipal Affairs Support Sector at the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) emphasized on the importance of electronic interaction between organizations and the public or among employees in order to enhance services and efficiency and productivity, referring to the knowledge management (Musharaka) in the DMA which enables to exchange knowledge among the employees of the Municipal System and aims at development, creativity, renovation and improvement in services.
The seminar presented several cases of deploying value co-creation in public sector and different levels and how to align the process of value co creation with the process of strategy planning and management.
